ABOUT THE WORK

Somewhere to Land is unfolding in a dynamic disorienting global climate, as we all grapple with the grief and opportunity of accelerating change locally, nationally and globally. BANDALOOP’s dances live in this dynamism, creating art in liminal public spaces with weather, landscape and embodied dreaming that expands what is possible. Somewhere to Land is deeply inspired by City of Alameda’s vision of De-pave Park — a post military softening of the landscape here on the shore. Our dance artists have been creating with this idea of de-paving ourselves, softening our rib-cages, creating space for more subtle tidal flows of our bodies.
