Premiered: Thursday, July 18 – Sunday, July 21 at 8:30pm
Presented by BANDALOOP and Fort Mason Center
2 Marina Blvd. at Buchanan St.
San Francisco, CA 94123
Staged in and around Fort Mason Center’s iconic, 50,000 sq ft Festival Pavilion and inspired by Fort Mason’s past and present, this world premiere moves through images of travel, memory, the fluidity of the ocean, rope craft and maritime industry using the medium of site-reactive multi-dimensional dance. Harboring engages the space and interactive set pieces including a stack of shipping containers and a swinging frame/vessel to draw the viewer into an immersive experience.
This is a show that asks the audience to move. You will walk, stand and good shoes are recommended. Limited seating will be available.
Harboring is choreographed by Amelia Rudolph, founder/artistic director, in collaboration with assistant artistic director Rachael Lincoln and the dancers of BANDALOOP, with art direction by Jack Carpenter; Jamielyn Duggan, costumes; Todd Laby, set; Jim French, lighting; and Mark Orton, Gideon Freudmann, and Jesse Olsen Bay, music.
The creation and production of Harboring is generously funded and supported by:
